Harmon, Spain’s first consultancy specialising in non-market strategies, has announced the appointment of Borja Bergareche Sainz de los Terreros as its new Partner for Communication, Innovation, and Corporate Leadership.

Borja is a well-known professional with 20 years of experience as a communications and media executive, corporate affairs consultant, and journalist. Having worked in Brussels, New York, and London, he specialises in influence and public positioning strategies, organisational transformation and reputation, as well as new technologies and digital marketing.

His addition reinforces Harmon’s position in the field of corporate communication and strengthens its advisory capabilities in public influence, visibility, and reputation strategies, while advancing its commitment to innovation, engagement strategies, public advocacy campaigns, and creativity.

In consultancy, Borja served as Director of Digital Communication and Innovation at Kreab, where he gained extensive experience advising clients in sectors such as real estate, pharmaceuticals, beauty, energy, education, banking, startups, and technology, as well as associations and regulatory bodies.

Previously, he was Chief Innovation Officer at Vocento, Spain’s leading daily press group, following a career as a journalist at ABC, where he served as Deputy Director, Foreign Editor, and London Correspondent. Earlier, he also worked in Brussels at the European Parliament and the European Commission.

With this appointment, Bergareche joins the firm’s partnership team, which includes Jaime Olmos (Founder), Eduardo Madina (Strategy Partner), and Manuel de la Fuente (Public Affairs Partner). Harmon now has a team of 25 communication and public affairs professionals.

“Harmon’s determination to bring together professionals who combine freshness, experience, and a deep understanding of this new era—where companies and organisations increasingly invest in strengthening their social relevance—is reaffirmed by Borja’s arrival,” said Jaime Olmos, CEO of Harmon.

“I’m thrilled to join the most talented and cohesive team in Spain’s communication and public affairs consulting sector, and I’m committed to contributing all my work and dedication to support the company’s remarkable growth,” stated Bergareche.

As a journalist, he held positions as Deputy Director, London Correspondent, and Foreign Editor at ABC, and has also written for El Correo (Bilbao), El País, and La Nación (Buenos Aires). Earlier in his career, he worked as an adviser on international and constitutional affairs at the European Parliament and the European Commission.
